The art of being happy lies in the power of extracting happiness from common things.
— Henry Ward Beecher
I agree. It Is the small things we seem to get excited about- a parking space in front, a delicious beverage, a fun night out at the movies with the family.
When we are grateful for the little things, life becomes more fun and interesting!
I know a man who is very popular and good at his job, but he never seems happy. He is a young, married man with a good job but he does not do anything or go anywhere. He doesn’t seem to have any hobbies. He has no goals or ambitions in life. He has the big things: a good job, a wife, he lives in a nice area, and he is heathy. These are all important things. But there are no little things to keep him happy. He does not read, write, go to movies, travel, etc. He does not seem excited for the little things in life.
If you find that you have many of the important things in life, but you just don’t feel happy, are you disregarding the little things in your life? Do you notice or are you grateful for the small gifts you receive throughout the week?
The important things in life keep you going throughout the week. The little things keep you going throughout the day!
