Take the First Step

"All things are difficult before they are easy." - Thomas Fuller

How many times do we lament that a task is difficult? Yet, all we have to do is look back at all the things we have learned to do in our lives. Most new tasks seem difficult until we learn how to do them. Babies need to learn to walk, young children learn to read, and teenagers learn to drive. Take a look around and you will see all of the people who successfully complete these tasks every day.

Even the easiest tasks seem hard when they are new to you. I ruined a few pieces of clothing when I first learned to use the washing machine. And, as I've learned to improve my culinary skills, I can't count how many times I made a meal that even my dogs wouldn't touch.

For every task, we just need to take the first step and then it starts to become easy!

Hello! I am Jamie- a nurse, a wife, and a mother (of 2 great kids and 3 amazing dogs). I have also lived with chronic illness, including chronic depression, since I was a teenager. Many years later, I now thrive with my depression rather than simply survive. I started this blog to share info and my experience with severe, chronic depression because I want YOU to thrive as well!
